Hello!
This first letter is really just to say hi and to let you know what I’ve been up to lately. January was all about making: I’ve been plein-air painting night and day and setting up a ceramics home studio! February has been all about documenting and organizing my digital records so I can share what I’ve been working on here. 🌟
Here’s me in my postage-stamp of a painting studio. The paintings are getting bigger but the studio is not! I’ve been in love with painting on these larger birch panels.
I’ve also been seeing winter in a new light by plein air painting in the cold. I’m often surprised by how shakey hands and a little bit of a time-crunch can lead to wonderful painting moments. A palmful of plein-air pond paintings and smaller works from Baltimore, Virginia, and Iceland are also listed on my shop.
As well as a parsel of prints that I have been hoarding away for the past several years!
Thank you for being here :) You’re receiving this email because you’ve either supported my work in the past, signed up for this newsletter, or are a dear friend. Like many of us, I want to shift my focus towards intentional forms of communication and connection and away from an algorithm that prioritizes quick paced clickbait (yuck!) This is a letter from me to you, and it is also an invitation to write back. Any questions or thoughts about the art, ways to connect, gut reactions, feelings, poems, recipes, etcetera, please feel free to send them my way.
If you want to see more of what I’ve been working on, I’ve updated my online shop with plenty of pictures!
As always, I recommend you open the site on your desktop browser. I’m having a ton of fun coding details and surprises into my shop and I want you to find all the easter eggs :-)
Take care of yourself! Stay in touch <3
With warmth,
Arista
P.S.
I’ve been making pots! I’ll be launching a new pottery line mid-March and I wanted to give you a lil sneak peek if you made it to the end. I’m so excited to show you what I’ve been making :-) 🐢
